Default Estimate of cost to put duramax and Allison in Denali XL?

Hello. I know this has been done and sold already, in 3/4 ton Subs

www.duramaxsuburban.com

But the guy wants 70 or 80 k for one of these things.

Could it be done with a Denali XL, or is the rest of the vehicle just not beefy enough to handle the duramax and allison's output?

I am almost ready to consider being a guinea pig for some local diesel shop to give it a go.......

D

ps Mr. Moderator - if you think this is better off in the Diesel section go for it. Just thought that since the Diesel is turbo....... LOL.

Hehe, I can't believe you! Your pockets must not be empty yet from your current setup.

I have put that combination in a H2 and it put out about 650hp at the wheels. Anything is possible with the right amount of money.

LOL - sooner or later I am gonna get it right.

But if it is going to cost me $450 to drive 1000 km on 8 mpg, then I am wondering how long it might take for the $225 I save if I get 16 mpg to add up to the cost of the transplant......Plus don't even get me started about how you can tune those diesels!

D
p.s. sadly, my motto is: Don't spend less, just make more!!!!!!

Ballpark is fine sir. Don't waste too much time on this the idea has just occurred to me. I mean, is this a 10 g touch? Or a 25 g touch? Or worse?

But I will definitely go to powerplayperformance.com and check out your H2.

Thanks

Well I went and saw the H2. Holy Crap is that nice. But that is so far out of my league it isn't even funny. About 4x what I could slip by the missus, seeing as I have already dumped about 15 k into upgrades for the Denali.

Wish GM would just build the damn Subs and Denalis with this option. I would buy one in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the link man, great work you do there!

HUMMER
The diesel/allison combo would be a great option for the Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon platform. That might just be a good thing for GM to do to get out of the slump. It would be very impressive to see a Denali with that combo.
