Default Duramax wanted!

Looking for some help. I have an '07 ECSB 5.3 z71 and it's just not cutting it anymore. Looking for an early 2000's duramax. There are only a couple of things that are a must. Manual transmission and either crew cab long bed or ext cab long bed. I live in Eastern,PA and it would be nice if it was nearby. I know I'm looking for a rare bird. Last week I almost settled on a 8.1L,Allison combo but the wife wants me to get the one I really want. Thanks

Just curious on why you want a manual behind a duramax. I have seen videos of people smoking their clutches for silly reasons.

I just prefer manual trans trucks. Rather have my brain pick the gear than the trucks brain. And they probably happened for silly reasons because the people were acting silly. Not saying that I wouldn't do anything silly, but I'd much rather have to fix a clutch than an Allison.

Try to find an 04.5 and up LLY.

They have no injector issues like some of the earlier LB7's. But dont get me wrong the LB7's are good trucks,

07 and up are out of the question for you as they only come with an Allison , but do have manual mode.

What are you doing/pulling thinking you'll brake an Allison? They make the truck so much fun to drive and tow with.

Duramax is night and day over your Z71, its 10x stronger and pulling/ towing is effortless with great economy , you look foward to big hills!

A great upgrade for a manual ZF truck is a south bend clutch. It will take any abuse you can throw at it.

OP you drive a after leasing that 07 you should just quit at trucks and just get a malibu maxx. Actually thinking about it with your track record with trucks you should just quit driving any type of automobile on PA roadways and be restricted to riding your 10 speed with your sped looking snowboarding helmet or your flamin' harley.

I guess now you know what my name is on this forum

I might start riding the 10 speed, thanks for the idea! And as far as my track record goes: the record was good enough when you needed an extraction from the park, and when one of your high quality autos had to go to the metal graveyard(RIP), and we can use my leased turd if you need help getting groceries in about a year when the 5.3 and the 6.0 are both sitting on tires, hold on a sec I gotta stop typing, my left wrist seems to be getting sore, (now what was that about a track record?)

Love ya

The original mirror covers have a wrinkle finish and the chrome ones are smooth, thus making the truck faster.
