I'm running the speed engineering 1⅞ long tubes right now fit great sound great and made good power. I'll be pulling them off soon to swap on the turbo kit. The headers and ory with shipping were a little over 400 damn good headers for the price and good customer service too

Like I said the headers look and fit perfect. My only complaint is that they built the headers with the A.I.R. injection tube on the passenger side that I didn't need. Installed them by myself with no issues whatsoever. But for a third of the price I could've had 1 7/8 x 3" instead of 1 3/4 x 2 1/2". Seems like a no brainer to me.:bang:

Be interesting if the speed engineering actually fit an HD truck or not..... whether they fit in a half ton or not doesn't mean anything. I assume the tabs on the bellhousing on the 80E would need to be cut off... and I know for exhaust I am on my own anyway.

My kooks fit like microwaved dogshit.

I can honestly say I am impressed with Speed engineering. I installed the 1 7/8" long tubes on my 2004 2500 and they dropped right in. The only mod I had to do was cut the ear off the side of the transmission beside the starter which took no time to do. Plenty of O2 clearance and whatnot otherwise. I am doing 3" custom duals which takes out guesswork of modifying stock piping to fit... but I am pretty sure a person could if they wanted too. I know this is old but I posted here before questioning fitment myself and now have done it so if that helps someone all the better.

Supposedly the 1 3/4" drop in with no trimming at all which is even easier if someone wants to go that route!

happen to have a picture of the cut to the ear of the transmission?

I can grab one. have to switch over to night shift tonight so I will be under there with my detailing continuation. It's the top ear that is right beside the starter...you cut it and a bit of the torque converter cover until it's flush. It's really easy.... I did it with a hacksaw in like 5 minutes because my sawzall was being useless.

Yes the pics are not the best but it is what it is with the headers installed. There is about a quarter inch between the area the ear was attached and the primary tube. It's plenty now.

TXsilverado 06-21-2017 11:22 AM

that spark plugs seems extremely close to the primary. any issues with that? I assume these will fit the 2wd 2500hd too?
