Default Brakes for my truck

Got a 1997 chevy 3500 crew cab dually I just picked up. I wanted to upgrade the brakes. From what I'm seeing no one makes any upgraded stuff this truck. Has anyone else found anything by chance?

For a heavy-duty truck we would recommend a good coated brake rotor like the Raybestos Element3 brake rotors. For brake pads, we would recommend a good truck pad such as the Hawk LTS pads. For the rear, a good replacement set of drums and shoes would be sufficient.

If you were looking for more specific info we would need more information. Is this RWD or 4WD? If replacing rear brakes what is the GVW and wheelbase of the truck?

The wheel base is 168.5 and the GVWR is 9000lbs. Its 2wd.

Thank you for supplying more info. For the front rotors, we would recommend Raybestos Element3 AGB-56593FZN. These are sold individually. These are coated rotors which will help keep the rotors from rusting and corroding.

For the front brake pads, we would recommend Hawk LTS HWK-HB298Y-787. These are sold as a front axle set. The LTS pads will provide better braking power over OE pads. They will also have a wide operating range and provide low dust.

Rear drums would be Raybestos AGB-9531R. These are sold individually. The rear shoes would be Raybestos AGB-452PG and are sold as a set of 4. Rear drum hardware kit Raybestos AGB-H7055 is enough for one wheel. Drum adjuster kit for driver side AGB-H2580. Drum adjuster kit for passenger side AGB-H2581. Rear wheel cylinder AGB-WC37337 sold as each.

This combo of brake components will help get your dually stopping better.
