From what I can see it might be a weight distributing, is it undersized?
Yes, i use a weight distro hitch and 12.5K lbs load leveling bars.

Its squatting the rear of my truck a little in this picture, but when I load the quads behind the axles its perfect.

Have you upgraded any of your suspension? I am debating on wheather I should find some different leafs or maybe some even more heavy duty shocks than what came stock. Air bags are expensive and is more added weight. Any sugestions?

Timbrin (SP??) makes a bump stop looking thing for the rear leafs to keep it from squatting. My buddy runs them on his Titan. I think it rides too stiff unloaded though with those on.

Honestly, a little squat isnt gonna hurt it. Keep it under control when loaded and you'll be fine. Ive been loaded like this for 5.5 years now, and its a 120 mile haul from my house to the dunes each way.

i cant say because i ill never need it to pull that . but when you say 3500 , your going to want a DRW truck for load purpose's . add some air bags and your good to go on hevy tongue weights as well as saftey of having a blowout .

that much weight being towed on any kind of bases i would look into the medium duty trucks man .

Andrew, I have towed at least 14k (didnt weigh it, just rough guesstimate) that is well over your ball weight for 3.73s (9900 lbs) where you getting your numbers? My owners manual tells me that my max towing (trailer weight) is 10200 lbs with a GCWR of 16K lbs. Trailer rating limited to 13k lbs with weight distributing hitch.

Fill, I know it shouldnt hurt it but I wonder if those bump stops will actuall help it, make the load easier to tow. I dont want to destroy the trans.

Dgrown, If I could afford a duramax, it would be sitting in the driveway. Hopefully I can get one in my next truck. I wouldnt have bought the truck I have now if I didnt get such a good deal on it, I was serching for a duramax at the time and could find one for around the same money. Thanks for the pic, nice truck!

2004SSS, When you say medium duty, do you mean the Kodiak? It may be a dumb question but,What is a DRW truck?

Thanx for the advice!

DRW = Dual Rear Wheel

unlike my truck is a 3500 chassis yet has a SRW single rear wheel.

and yes for continued pulling weight like that a medium duty , aka 4500-6500 series gm trucks .i can see having a dual rear wheel setup to pull that on a regular basis though. just needs a little trans/motor/drivetrain upgrading.

Well, I said the DRW question was a dumb one, I should have known that,lol.

I found this just looking around, what y'all think? Will it help tow more weight?

It is spost to eliminate sag, I just wonder how harsh the ride would be.
