8.1 crank and cam trigger settings for aftermarket ecu
Hi everyone from downunder
We do not have many 8.1's here so I am at a loss at what the crank trigger wheel and cam is at.
is it the same as ls1?
I am using a aftermarket haltech ecu so does anyone have a picture of the wheel itself? or know what the trigger system is ?
This engine is in a Holden ute (pickup) truck you would say.
I heard you guys like megga squirts? even a megga squirt tune file would be great!
any info appreciated

it only made 216hp at the wheels through a worked auto.
does this sound about right ? the engine is standard.
using a dyno dynamics dyno which reads lower then the american dyno jet.

Which transmission is it connected to?
Factory I believe was 340 hp 455 lb·ft of torque at the Flywheel. But here in the states depending on what it was connected to somewhere derated when connected to a 4L80E like in a suburban Vs. the same in a truck with an Allison.
Depending on your setup, that would be a roughly 36.5% loss through the drive train. I know the dyno dynamics can read low but I would have to believe the number should still be a little higher.
On the Dynos I have used, I have seen any where from an 18%-22% loss through the drivetrain on stock configurations.

it has a old Haltech E8 ecu in it.
I spoke to a few local guys and they are saying that the power it made is about spot on, it is a standard motor.
It has a T700 auto behind it
The guy has another engine that came out of a speed boat, can he put those heads on the truck block? would it make a big difference if he used those heads and got it ported and installed a cam?
I attatched a pic of the ute
cheers for the help
