I agree Zippy about the Powerstroke, and almost bought one. But I have an 06 Duramax in the driveway because of the head gasket problems with the 6.0 powerstroke. As of today the Duramax is the truck to own, IMHO.

good choice there. the powerstroke has put down some great numbers, especially in stock form, but with many problems to go with it.

This passed summer i worked for a company that had a 2005 powerstroke and a 2005 duramax and the duramax was by by far nicer. It would pull circles around the powerstroke. The duramax would also out run the powerstroke in a drag race and was alot nicer riding and more comfortable. Both trucks were 4 door short beds and were 4 wheel drive. We had no problems or breakdowns out of either truck even though we worked the *** off of them.

those kind of torque numbers won't be making passenger trucks for quite some time. the ability to build a trans good enough to put a warrenty on and hold that kind of power without having harsh shifts just isn't there yet.

I'm pickin mine up on wednesday. Test drove it yesterday, that 6 speed is awesome. The new Duramax gets up and runs a hell of a lot better than the previous Duramax's. I cant wait!!!!
