Being that it's a Fel-pro kit. That is likely something for a marine specific application.

It has nothing to do with a factory car or truck application.

It has begun! Got the mains plastigauged, was reading about .0017 with .004 of thrust bearing clearance. My thrust bearings were tight as hell from the factory about .0015 even after setting the thrust so i had to go in and gently and evenly sand/polish both sides. Went ahead and got the crank and cam installed. Anyone that is doing a rebuild i highly suggest getting a new cam retainer plate because the gasket can leak and cause low oil pressure issues.

This may go without saying but Cleanliness is super important when building an engine. Ecspecially at this stage when things are being torqued down for good. The smallest bit of grit can ruin your day. I like to bag my engine when im not wrenching on it

Well what a big letdown...So i got my piston rings in this morning. Hopped up happy as a mf! Went to test fit a ring and it didnt fit So i checked and double checked and the rings were indeed for an lq4..then i got to thinking.. my pistons are technically ly6 pistons and as fate would have it the top ring is not 1.5 mm on an ly6..argh. on a side note i conquered two broken exhausts bolts in my heads last night. After breaking off a drill bit in one and a screw extractor in the other had to get a set of left handed bits and a quality set of bolt extractors..something im starting to realize is that O'Reily auto parts is leaps above Advance and Auto Zone. They are the only store that sold left handed drill bits among otger things and when i purchased an Irwin (made in usa) Bolt extractor from lowes the tip snapped off with minimal force applied. The ones from O Reily got it done. I had to get a dremel and a tunsten carbide grinde

r bit and grind out the broken extractor..cause i was not about to pay $70 for a rescue bit.

Got my 50lb flex fuel injectors this afternoon. Picked them up used on ebay with 45 miles on them for $66 shipped with a 10% off code. Apparantly they do CNG conversions on box trucks fresh off the lot. Im just glad i could snag them up at such a good price. They dont look like knock offs and seller had 5 stars so they should be gtg.
