From what I understand, LT's take away torque and add more top end power.. Don't quote me on that though. Supposedly the stock manifolds are one of the best setups there is. But I'm cutting my cats out when I get my new mufflers here in December or so, so I'm hoping they'll free up the bottom end. With 190,000 on cats and 170,000 on Flowmasters, I'm sure the new SLP Bullets and no cats will flow a tad nicer Also about to swap an LS9 cam in

Those new cams like the LS9 are single bolt design, are they worth changing cam sprocket setup ?

With all the necessary parts it still comes out at half the price of a custom cam. I'm on a budget, haha, no time to mess with namebrand fancy parts.

I ended up installing some pacesetter longtubes,3" Y-pipe into single 3" into 50 series flowmaster and single rear side exit, deleted the cats.I didn't notice any more power at all about the same.I thought I would pick up some power from the longtubes and gain some torque from going true dual 3" to single but no? WTH,cam upgrade and around a 3000 converter in the future. By doing all this would I pick up decent power with some L92 heads with the 90mm intake, and tb.Over the 317 heads ?

From what I've heard, LT's aren't worth it, but depends on your application. I could see the single 3" exhaust could be restricting as well, especially with the extra flow from the deleted cats. I'm no mechanic or tuner, haha, just going by word of mouth and what I've learned through the years. I'm still looking into the heads. Some folk use the stock 317's, some run the L92's, some break out the big bucks and get AFR's and Trick Flows, haha, all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. For boost applications I've heard it's best to run 317's, they keep the compression down better than the L92's. Martin at Tick is gonna get back with me about a cam for my rig but it will be for boost(down the road). Skipping the stall for now, but I've heard they make a hell of a difference. Along with gears, but they get REAL pricey.

I don't know much on heads so couldn't tell you how they'd perform, haven't heard of anyone swapping them onto their projects though. The headers are a top-end gainer, along with that LS9 cam. I was ready to do that cam swap (I could get one off my tuner for cheap) but after I looked into it it wasn't worth it unless you wanna go fast. It's a top-end gainer as well, doesn't peak until about 6,300, not too ideal for a truck. It'd all definitely provide top-end performance but I can't tell you anything other than that, haha

Not sure who else has done this ?
I just found out that the 4l80 trans converter locks up at full throttle in 2nd gear which sucks IMO,so I pulled up my old truck 5.3/4l60 tables in my hptuners software and matched those TCC tables in my 04 6.0/4l80.It runs ALOT better pulls harder for sure, not such a pooch anymore.

Which is locking and unlocking? I know when I do second gear pulls, at 4,000 rpm I BELIEVE it's unlocking, it sits at 4,000 for a few seconds and starts climbing again, that's WOT. I asked my tuner while it was on the dyno what it was doing there and I'm pretty sure he said it was unlocking there.
