Question Blower motor 1 2 3 work not 4 5

My blower motor only works on 1, 2 and 3 but not 4 or 5. I had this problem in one of my previous silverados but I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. I might have replaced the blower motor relay or the entire blower motor. I don't think it was the switch itself. Anybody else had this problem?

My guess is the blower motor resistor or wiring to it. Its attached to the bottom of the air box by the fan and can be removed with (IIRC) taking out 2-3 10mm bolts.

This^

I used to see that alot at the dealer, especially on the older GM trucks. Always sold the resistor and harness cause it usually melts the original stuff. The replacement is a better setup but all the wires are white or grey Lol. Thanks for color coding GM!! Just have to keep wires in order as you do them one by one

So I replaced the blower motor resistor and now I have 1, 2, 3 and now I also have 4 but 5 still doesn't work. When I turn it on 5 I hear a little click where the resistor is. Any ideas?

did you replace the harness or just the resistor?

yes. theres prob a burnt connection inside the harness

I fixed the harness with no luck BUT I found the problem. There is a fuse under the hood for the high speed #5 blower speed that was blown. Replaced it and now everything is good.
