Default Kiddo hauler shopping

So i have been test driving several cars lately trying to find a nice kiddo hauler. So far i have driven:

2010 Cadillac CTS 3.6
2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0T
2014 Cadillac ATS 3.6 AWD
2009 Pontiac G8 GT

The ATSes have a small back seat so that is no beuno. Also EVERYTHING is touch, no ***** no buttons, kinda annoying.

The CTS was was nice and roomy but was rather sluggish

The G8 GT was nice, quick and roomy.

So i am currently liking the CTS and G8.

Anyone have experience with these 2 cars?

I've driven the CTS-V with a manual, it was fun and very fast but pricey, the G8 was fun too but I didnt like the seats. I am looking that the Chevy SS now. the seats are comfortable and the 2015 will come with a 6 speed manual. I'm looking for something that is a little better on gas that either of the trucks and can haul the kids and both dogs and still be fun for me to drive.

Yeah no ctsv. They are too expensive and over rated. No way in hell i am spending 40k+ on a car.

All the cars listed above except the 14 ATS are used with about 50-60k miles and are around 18-24k. I can tolerate that.

Naw. I want something nice that can get out of its own way. Also the interior can not be annoying.

So this is kind of a random suggestion. However, have you ever driven a 06-09Lexus GS450H its a very very nice ride. Most are very low mileage and they get 30+mpg while being quite fast. It's not your typical hybrid as the intention is to be fast combining a stout V6 with powerful electric motors for 340hp and 0-60 5.2secs. I bet it would meet your needs while having the right price.

If your going for a car , and it's not a caddy or G8 , check out the new SS or
Something else that's rear wheel drive with a V8 or turboed . Rear wheel drive cars ride the best and don't nickle&dime ya like front wheel drive , I hate brakes and TQ steer on FWD

YeH Lexus is a nice ride. My wifes car is a Lexus RX350. It rides good and is actually kinda quick. I still wanna drive a IS250.

Thats over as soon as you get in it...

Have you called and asked your MIL What she would like to ride in???

The thing I don't like about the Cadillac CTS 3.6 was the engine... I replaced an engine on one that had a cam gear break around 80K miles. Apparently after talking with the owner It's one of the weak spots on those vehicles.

Up side was that it was easy if you have a 2 post lift. The whole cradle drops out of the bottom with the engine/tranny combo.

Do a little more research on the mechanicals of all the vehicles your looking at before you make an actual purchase.
