Default FS: Built 4L80E and converter

I have a 91-99 model 4L80E with stock internals, shift kit, vacuum modulator, upgraded clutches, and upgraded intermediate sprag for sale. It was built by Transformance in Georgia and is currently back at the builder to replace what I believe is a bad bearing. I didn't want to wait for it to come back so in the meantime I have bought an FLT unit and will no longer need the Transformance unit once it comes back.

This trans is the early style case, but has had a top mounting ear welded on, so there shouldn't be any disadvantage to running a newer trans over this one. It has a vacuum modulator for shift pressures, and I will include a check valve for use in a forced induction application so that you don't pressurize the vacuum modulator.

The shift kit is made by TransTec and is a full manual 1-2 kit, meaning that if you put the selector in 1 or 2 you are going into that gear no matter what. Putting the selector into 3 or 4 operates like normal. This was the solution that was necessary to give me back engine braking in 2nd gear.

Clutches are Raybestos Blue Plate Specials.

Intermediate sprag was recently upgraded and is the heavy duty 34 element sprag. I broke the stock one and didn't want any more issues.

The tranny is currently set up for 4wd, but it would be very easy for me to have the builder change it over to 2wd while he has it. If I don't have a buyer for it by the time he is ready to put it back together it'll have to come back to me in 4wd trim, but should be relatively quick and easy for a trans shop to convert it back to 2wd (output shaft and tailshaft housing are the only differences as far as I know).

My FLT only came with one of the two speed sensors, so I had to steal one from the Transformance unit. You will have to buy a second speed sensor for the rear port. I will ship the trans with a plug in that port. Tranny has factory clip-in style cooler lines. Transfer case adapter and the lower half of the bellhousing are not included.

The converter is a Hughes 25-20L. It is at Hughes right now being cut open and cleaned. It is a heavy duty stock replacement converter. Single large lockup clutch. Stalled to about 2400 behind my N/A 408 and up to about 3200 on a boosted brake stall. Drives like stock around town.

I have about $2400 invested in the trans and converter. Both will be in like new condition when I get them back.

I am looking for $1800 for the trans and converter together, or $400 for the converter and $1500 for the trans separate. These price do not include shipping - that will be extra. I do have a plastic GM tranny crate to ship the tranny in, rather than strapping it to a pallet. This will be yours to keep.

Me too! Funds from the sale of this tranny are going directly to my credit card company, lol.

Picked up the converter today, it's ready to go. New clutch, new hub, new bearing, and I'm $270 poorer, but the converter is essentially brand new.
