Default 79 C-10 5.3/4l60e

Wanted to show you all my project. I have had this truck for 10 years. It was my daily driver through HS and College both. Treated me well and never left me stranded. I felt it was time to pay it back with an LSx swap.

I found a 5.3/4L60E combo at the local salvage yard with 93K miles on both.
The swap is coming to an end. I am keeping it stock for now to get a base line of what I have for now. It is going to have a Custome EFI live tune, as well as home made cold air intake, with dual exhaust.

I have been troubled with what mufflers I want to use. Not using cats I worry I am going to have a redneck TBI truck glass pack sound. I have down pipes off of a 6.0L they are 3", I have to 3" 4' long tubes I plan to weld to the down pipes to get me back behind or under the cab. I intend to put an H pipe in before my mufflers. But what mufflers should I use? I really like Magnaflow, but there again, with out cats may give me that red neck sound i don't want. I have thought about Magnaflows and Aluminized packs together.... I just don't know. Flowmaster offers 2.5" manderal bent tail pipes I can get from Summit for $105, they dump out behind each tire,

Any ways, here are some pics of my progress.

Do I see a sleeper being born?

I'm looking forward to the day when I can repay my truck for its service. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted.

I'm curious, what did you have in it before the swap?

I hope its a sleeper!

I had a 300hp or so 350 in it, .030" 9.5:1, edelbrock Perf RPM cam, springs and intake, 625 Road Demon carb, MSD HEI dist, and a 350TH with a transgo shift kit, TCI saturday night special TC. Still have it, keeping both for a future Hot Rod. My son is 11 months old, Hope to have that project by the time he is 6 or so.

As of right now, no. If I do anything along that lines, I'll find a 6.0L for it and build it up. But you never know, I might get a wild hair next winter

I went with full 3" exhaust and used a H-pipe in mine. At idle it has a deep throaty sound to it. I think you'd be happy with the magnaflow though. I have a friend that just put headers and ORY on his Dodge with a magnaflow and it sounds good.
Your swap looks like it's going good. Good luck on the rest of it.
