Default hypothetical question

I have always liked the 7.3 powerstrokes, but i like the new 5-speed torqueshift tranny better than the 4r70w (< I think that's right) and was wondering if someone wanted to, how hard/expensive would it be to retrofit the new tranny to the old motor??

I dont know if anyone has tried to swap the 4R100 to the 5R110. You can make the 4R100 a very good trans with the right parts for less than what it would take to buy a 5R110. You can buy the internalls that companies like ATS, Suncoast, and others use to make their 5k transmissions for alot less money. Even paying someone to do the work.

Yeah, it would probably be cheaper, I was just wondering. I guess if you were gonna be swapping, it would probably be better to try and get an allison in there...

An Allison? Why would you want to do that? The 5R110 is a better transmision. The 5R110 is a basic Allison design. You can make the 4R100 a great transmission. You would be better off having someone rebuild your transmission with the RIGHT parts, but thats just my opinion.

Yeah I know it would be better to just have someone build up the 4r100, I was just thinking... Hence the "hypothetical" question.. I dont even own a powerstroke... lol
