looking for an 06 Silverado SS Silver Birch Metallic front grill assembly?

do these come painted or do they need paint?

most of the ss grilles come painted. i know they did for the black, red, and blue ones.

lol, thanks joe, I'm working it, trying to see what's available, .........maybe just sanding down the chromed plastic would be the best way to go, it seems to rub off quite easily anyway

thanks for the 411, I have a local project going here with prepping and painting a bumper and maybe my stock grill, just not real sure on the paint adhesion to it after the chrome is sanded off, probably pretty good, as it seems to be quite thin and easy to rub off with no sand paper at all

Anyway, the bumper is made out of TPO plastic, which I know has to prepped very well and can be tricky to get paint to stick to it.

sand the grille down with 320 grit and you should be fine. you could even scuff it with red scuff pad really really good. try to get it as dull as possible or even remove it. when you go to paint it make sure you put some adhesion promotor on there so it will stick good

might have to give that a try, I'd rather not buy one if it's not needed

its not needed. thats how i done 1slow01z71's truck. i just scuffed the chrome and painted it up. good luck with it.
