I agree with the CC if room is needed because it's much more comfortable. I got a CC LB and my father got a newer one, same CC LB, but newer body style. I don't like the SB myself, but I need to tow 5th wheel style trailers and SB's aren't made for those.

I Have an 01 7.3 PS 2wd with the 3.73 rear end and the 6 speed manual transmission.
Just the other day i pulled a little ove 20,000 pounds with it and was very impressed with how it handled itself.... Even my boss who has an 02 Dmax was impressed... I bought the truck with it already programed by the previous owner so i'm not sure exactly how much power was added but its not much because it don't hardly smoke when i get on it hard... but it pulls great!!! I put a 5" strate pipe on it an it sounds pretty good.. I bought this truck with around 120,000 miles on it an i have almost 150,000 an its still running great an has good power..

I would suggest a Dmax.

Our company trucks are a 2001 Excursion with the 7.3PSD... its alright but with 140k miles and the steering is absolutly horrible... ive had the complete front end replaced twice..

2002,2003 (first year of 6.0?) F-350 Dually 6.0POS! Its horrible with pulling power. and gets crappy fuel mileage with 3.73s..

05 F-350 6.0.... the engine had to be replaced after it stayed in the shop ever other week... we only could put 58k miles on it in 2 years..

07 Dmax. Pulls great, rides great and still gets double the mileage the other trucks get. and its already got 28k miles on it. Couldnt ask for a better work truck.

>>MY 2001 7.3 without a load will get 18mpg runnin from house to work... on a trip from Ms to Pa i got 20-21 with it.. i don't know about you but i was impressed..<<

Also, kinda seems like you got your mind set already and are gonna buy that truck no matter what reviews you hear Tyler...I would seriously suggest searching the net (Edmunds and Consumer reports) for reviews and unbiased opinions from previous truck owners because more than likely the opinions you'll get here will be somewhat biased, not saying we're not open minded but we all have favorites.
Best of luck and in any case look forward to hear what you buy and what you do to it!!

I agree. Any new product is likely to have bugs the first year even if they are small. Besides afrer that year there will be many more opinions from actual experience not brochures.

+1 on the d-max...on powerstroke i would ever own is a 7.3...super reliable engine and get good fuel mileage considering the truck...

i wouldnt get a new 6.4...they are already ditching it in 2011 it looks like...
