a powerstroke is a powerstroke given the same model year, if its a choice in model year, get the 7.3L hands down.

btw, i think you should really look at the duramax or cummins motors. they would be my first two choices

:stupid:

I drive a 03 PSD with the 6L for work and tow a 28" equipment trailer hauling farm tractors and other equipment. I'm not at all impressed with it. :( My dad has a 03 Dmax and it is WAY more comfortable to ride in and when it was still stock would easily out pull the PSD. Of course, it's turned up now thanks to EFILive :D. It tows his 34' 5th wheel VERY well. :)

If you do want to get a PSD, go find ya a 7.3......

I would suggest a Dmax.

Our company trucks are a 2001 Excursion with the 7.3PSD... its alright but with 140k miles and the steering is absolutly horrible... ive had the complete front end replaced twice..

2002,2003 (first year of 6.0?) F-350 Dually 6.0POS! Its horrible with pulling power. and gets crappy fuel mileage with 3.73s..

05 F-350 6.0.... the engine had to be replaced after it stayed in the shop ever other week... we only could put 58k miles on it in 2 years..

07 Dmax. Pulls great, rides great and still gets double the mileage the other trucks get. and its already got 28k miles on it. Couldnt ask for a better work truck.

Hmm odd i was impressed with the 6.0 in my buddies truck...really put me back in the seat, hes only got hypertech pp3 and an intake? I want balls to the wall accell...

just get the dmax and then get a 4-5" exhaust, gauges, and a PPE box. check out dieselplace.com for tons of dmax info

Get a dmax...but if you really want s PS make damn sure it has the 7.3...

Pre-'05 6.0 PSD's like to pop head gaskets. And to install the new one, you have to pull the cab. So if you get just make sure it is still under warranty or has already had the repair made (better head studs).

I really liked my '05- it would run 14's with a canned tune through the stock exhaust.

Yeah im looking at the new 08s but i like the 07 design better :( ive been searching powerstrokes on youtube and they sound SICK with MBRP or straight pipe...

I have a 06 f250 lariat crewcab with the fx4 off road as a company truck and i love it. it just turned 46,000 miles on it and i have had it a little over a year and sunday i had the very first problem with it. something caused the fuel pump circuit to short out the fuse pannel's circuit board. at least thats what they told me. $550 later and i am driving it today. I have towed a few 10klb trailers at 80+mph with ease. I have upgraded the exhaust to a 4"magnaflow and droped in a good airfilter with a cheap superchips programer and it runs strong.

I would wait at least a year on the new 6.4's. ford dont have the best reputation on first year powerstrokes :bomb: :jest:
