Default Patriot Heads?

Which Patriot heads to use on a 6.0L truck with TR224, LT headers, no cats, flowmaster muffler and stock truck intake. Might upgrade to LS6 intake in future. No plans to rev past 6200 RPM.

It's a RCSB truck with 4L60E and 3.73 gears for street use.

With your setup I would think that the stage 2 317s would be fine. Call the guys over at Patriot and ask them what they think, I am pretty sure they will tell you the same thing.

Not sure if 2.08 will fit 4.0" bore. I think they are for bigger bore.

How about Patriot Performance CNC Ported 243 LS6 with 64cc? I think compression will be 10.9 with stock MLS gasket.

The stage 2 317s don't have 2.08 intake valves but the stage 3 do but I don't think you quite need the stage 3 with your setup. 317 heads are what's on your motor now so you could go with those and have them do whatever you want with the cc to get your compression ratio where you want it.

Their are alot of companies out there that make great heads AFR, TEA, WCCH, etc..... do some shopping around but for the price on the Patriots IMO is pretty reasonable for what you get but that's just my opinion.

I ran Patriot Stage II 5.3's on my LS1. For your cam and rev ability plans I would consider them. 64cc chambers 214cc intake runner 2.02 1.57 valves. The 243 and 317 castings would work better if you were going to spin a higher rpm. It sounds like you are after torque and midrange and you want a high velocity small port. My LS1 made 350rwtq @ 2500rpms with the 5.3's and TR224.

My builder did not recommend stg 3's on a 6.0. Said I would be better served with the 2.055 and 1.57's than the 2.08 and 1.60's. So I bought stg 2's. He's the pro not me, so I listened. Mine is a fairly mild setup but is FI.
