All of BTs truck cams can be used with OE springs and pushrods.

With a stock stall, is wouldn't go over a stage 2 cam.

Tuning will do wonders.

OE meaning LS6. Not the factory truck springs.

You will need LS6 springs for any cam worth swapping in... Otherwise forget the whole idea.

Do you have headers or anything?

^^^ This is the cam guy, listen to what he's got to say.

And a spring swap is required, get the blue LS6's... they are 60 bucks.

Be prepared though, a cam swap costs about 700-800 bucks said and done.

Gaskets, springs, cam, pushrods, coolant, oil, etc.

and yeah, you'll need a tune, and don't waste your time swapping in any stock GM cam.

Only reason i mentioned the lq9 cam is op is trying to do this on a budget and not have to swap springs... But i fully agree cam swap done correctly will not be cheap and needs valve springs for anything worthwhile....

5.3 LM7 cam duration 191/190
6.0 LQ9 cam duration 196/201
Sorry I don't buy getting a 40hp bump from such a small change even with a .010 upgrade in lift. Swapping to LS6 springs is worth your time.

Yea 40hp is wildly over exaggerated. Let's think about this. The LQ9 has 60
Hp more in total. It's heads flow a lot more, and it has 12% more displacement. It also has a much higher compression. And oh yea... The small difference in cams.

I'm gonna reiterate the trailblazer converter, servo, and tune. Better converter options out there, without question. But with a tight budget, those mods will drop close to a second off 1/4 mile times
