Default Measuring HP by the maf g/s?

Hey I was just reading elsewhere some people are doing this calculation g/s ÷.75 an coming out with a somewhat accurate HP. #. How accurate is this? Or is it kind of a ballpark deal?

The more I look the more I'm seeing .80 used instead of .75. I'll check out mine tonight and see what kind of readings I see

That can be somewhat accurate if no changes are made to the vehicle. Not sure about the calculation itself, since I don't bother with it...

Well I got a reading of 550 something at the maf with means I would have 680-690 HP at the crank and with a stock 4.8 at 10# I think that's way off lol

its a good tool but its relative to other things. I use it as a metric to ballpark hp on other builds and show improvements in my setup when the number goes up on my runs..

I used g/cyl at one point and compared to my dyno runs to make a sort of curve...not sure how accurate it is.

Yea dynamic airflow is a good number to guesstimate with. If I remember right, 0.01 g/cyl is around 4.5rwtq. Should put you in the ball park until you peg the g/cyl hard limit.

Cool thanks for the extra info guys, I will be hitting the dyno in the upcoming weeks so well see how accurate the calculation is.
And I like the idea of using it a a gains measuring device as well, as my stock max was less than 300 ( around stock HP for a 4.8) and now I'm between 550 and 575, so I'm in the range I was thinking.... possibly....but we'll see. lol I never did like math class
