Default turbo build 2001 silverado

Well I've been wanting to do this for a while now. But life kept happening. Finally I have some cash saved up. And I can finally start. Well itll start in about a month as I'm going to 29 palms for some training for a month.

So it's a 2001 silverado. Rcsb stepside. It's got a stock 5.30 with headers. The goal is 400whp to start. And slowly turn it up. Going with 317 heads and thick head gaskets for lower compression. Going to stay with pump gas. (91 octane) rear mount turbo because I have to pass smog in california. And I can hide the turbo from the visual no prob.

The list I have together right now is as follows.
1. on3 turbo. 7875.
2. 60 lb injectors. (is that big enough to eventually support 600?
3. Walbrow 400lph. Pump.
4. Godspeed 38mm waist gate
5. Manual boost controller
6. 317 heads
7. Possibly a ls9 cam
8. Twin areoforce interceptors set up for boost air transtemp and I'll think of a 4th Guage.
9. Gm 2 bar map sensor
10. Arp 12 point head studs.
11. Morcal oil pump.
12. Stall converter. Was looking at the TCI 3600. Anyone use those? How do they compare to the yanks. Or circle D?

The setup is going in the bed of the truck. It's going to have its own oil sump to pull from so the oil lines won't be running 6+ feet to the motor and back. Hopefully saving the turbo from lack of oil. All exhaust will be wrapped. Planning on keeping the 60e. Adding a two step or a brake. Down the road. Truck is going to be 60/40 street strip.

Is the 7875 to big for a rear mount? Anyone have any results with a similar set up?

400whp is not going to be a problem with that on3 kit.
Clean truck- post a build thread when you get around to doing this

Leave the stock heads, and just use LS9 gaskets. You're gonna have stupid low compression and be a dog out of boost.

If you want an improvement over stock heads, find some 799 or 243 castings instead of 317's. The chamber on the 317's is big & will lower your SCR substantially. It will be a lazy dog out of boost.
