Swap to look for in swap engine??
I' m looking at putting a 2006 Lq4 and 2wd 4l80e into my 1971 C10.
The owner of the 2006 Lq4 and trans is private party. He states the engine is complete with harness, accessories, MAF, pedal for drive by wire, ecu (does the trans have its own ECU on these years?).
Is there anything else I would need from the donor vehicle?
Also what is good to look at as far as the engine to make sure it is good? He said it ran last week in a vehicle with less then 70K, donor vehicle is not available to look at engine is already pulled.
Should I pull the valve cover to look for the golden brown color on the valve train? what else?
All help is appreciated.

Thanks guys. Owner told me he sells salvaged trucks and this truck was in a roll over. I asked if the truck was starved of oil when rolled over and he says no "little concerned about this". Said he ran and drove the truck and all worked well. Due to being a craigslist motor, no warranty but said he would "make it right if something was wrong". Says this is what he does for a living has 5 or 10 engines currently for sale.

I just bought a roll over. As long as you drain the oil from the top of the motor and clean everything it will fire right up.
I had to pull the intake and drain the oil that pooled up from the valve covers, Then cleaned out as much oil residue as I could.
I also pulled the plugs and turn the motor over by hand to clear the oil from the cylinders.
Once I cleaned everything up and re installed the parts, it fired right up.
