I agree on the 20's losing mpg. I saw about a 2-3 mpg decrease on average coming from 17's. Worse in town and highway was still down but not as much. This was on a 3.42 geared tahoe.

The folks at Blackbear are great people to deal with..i am very pleased with the tune on my truck.. (in my sig) i didnt really see any mpg improvement, but then again the 6.0 with 4.10s isnt suppose to get the best mpg..i get a soild 13-14..

The more I look into it, I think I'm going to pass on the headers.. Just doesn't seem worth $600 to get it done right.. As for the tune, I've been emailing Justin at BBP and might schedule an in house tune in San Diego.. About 120 miles from my house.. Anything I should do before I go? I'm going to change the oil.. But what about my O2 sensors? I doubt they have been replaced in 140,000 miles..

Just got back home from San Diego.. Met up with Justin and WOW! Haha huge difference in throttle response and shifts.. 91 octane does make it feel a little smoother and sound way better..I noticed on the freeway it pulled harder and didn't need to downshift in cruise control under a load.. So that's cool.. He told me a re tune for the headers was free and that the Doug Thorley 1 5/8 LTs are perfect for my truck.. So I'll be acquiring some ARP studs and some good gaskets and a Y-pipe in the very near future.. Overall very happy and excited with it! I highly recommend this to everyone!

So 15 days later I finally ran a tank out.. 375 miles on my trip (about 300 hwy/75 street) almost all hwy was 65-73 mph 40 miles at a time (91 fwy). BEFORE the tune on 87 octane I usually averaged 14.8 mpg all together.. AFTER the tune on 91 octane I recorded 16.9 mpg! Super stoked on that! Too bad gas went up about $1.00 since my last fill up, which kinda sucked.. But after I found out I averaged 16.9 mpg off 375 miles and 22.2 gallons of 91 octane combined hwy/city I had to drive from Corona to Bellflower straight from the 15 fwy to the 91 fwy during 9pm NO traffic.. I drove about 65-67 mph on cruise control for 42 miles straight and filled up just to see what it got. And the truck took 2.5 gallons.. Which gave me like 16.6 mpg full hwy..? WTF is that about I wonder? I have 3.73 gears with 20"s... Any ideas?
Anyways I'm super happy with the tune and going to get the hardware and gaskets to install some Doug Thorley 1 5/8 long tubes that my brother will sell me for $400 and they're ceramic coated with like 2000 miles on them.. Hoping to run no cats and complety remove my EGR and air check vales. Pretty much anything involving the smog from the exhaust.. Any tips on that? Thanks!
