Default head stud or bolts

quick feedback to help me a opinion before I click order a arp bolts for heads. What a different compare a stud and bolts. I was thinking about getting me a arp head bolts? Cause I want to swap cam same time put ls7 lifter and mls head gasket then boost it.

I recommend the studs simply for ease of use, and more consistent torquing and clamping force. You would need ARP 234-4317, I got them new on eBay for $259.

You can't really go wrong with the bolts though, and they are roughly $100 cheaper. Your 2006 block will have the shallower bolt holes, making them easier to clean than the older blocks. Just make sure the bolt holes are clean and dry either way.

Spraying a 350 shot on on 7-8 year old arp bolts that's been reused a lot.. No issues. If you have an all out really high hp build go with the studs, if not the bolts will do just fine..

Thanks man. Yes my engine is 2006. It's very clean. It's been since I bought truck as brand new. I been cleaned engine slot. No
grease.

I am using arp bolts on my setup reused twice with no issues so far.

I went with arp bolts. Been about 1500 miles so far so good. As clean as an engine can be still a good idea to chase them threads to clean out any gm thread locker. Some brake cleaner and compressed air should get them squeaky clean. With provided lube you should have no problem getting torque specs right on. Especially if your gonna boost.
