Default Cyl heads

So, a buddy says to me he wants to put a set of 243 heads
on a 6.2 short block. I say no the heads will overlap the bore.
pistons can hit the chambers and i don't think the head gaskets
will seal right. am i wrong ?

They'll work but are inferior to the l92/ls3 heads. The square port heads flow so much more/better over the 243 heads.

Your wrong. They will bolt up, you just have to use the 6.2L gasket. You will need all the cathedral style rocker arms too.

I've read on here that the 243/799 heads are more suited for low RPM torque than the L92 heads... I was getting ready to start a thread to discuss this on a 6.0

What's the application? There's a huge argument as to what head is better under boost. Maybe something to look into if both are on the table? I've seen it discussed on both yellowbullet and turboforums.

Default Heads

won't the heads over laping the cyl screw up the squish/quench area ?
3.779 bore vs 4.062

The heads wont overlap the cyl... youre thinking about it backwards unless I am misunderstanding what you are asking.

I'm sure it would perform well with the 243 heads. It wouldn't have the same lung up top, but it would be a brawny combo.

Sooo i have a 6.2 stock block with 243 heads , dual springs, titanium retainers. Texas speed magic stick3 .600 intake .600 exhaust 113 lsa.
wondering what kind of compresson ratio , and how good it would perform. Something I trew together one afternoon.
