Mine does not heat soak that bad sitting in traffic idling in 100*+ texas summer heat with the AC on max. Iats about 30* above ambient. I used to daily drive mine everyday. Then again i do have a phenolic spacer maybe the bypass valve in the maggie helps. I could pull over and put my hand in the blower and it was warm and not burn my hand. I dunno just my experience. My old turbo setup was about the same.

I'm just referring back to GMCtrk's experience at the track this year. The numbers I saw were absurd...

Now with a metal intake youll have heat soak...cocaine for example heat soaks with IAT in intake by firewall

Example project blue lightning....turbo output for IAT was 250* IAT2 which is in intake is 100* after a full 1320 pull

So motor isnt seeing high iat like a PD blower

Same truck would see 198-220* with ice on a 1320 pass

Yes a turbo gets hot but still best route for towing otherwise factory vehicles would have PD blowers to tow

Id love to see a PD blower tow for 6hrs and 9000lbs
Open it up and see how bad the tolerances of case became

Wait i did see a PD blower that was used for towing...blower was in desperate need of rebuild...this was from towing a camper
I have a mp112 on a stock 6.0 in an 05 1500 with 80e and a 2600 stall I pull a 30ft travel trailer I have no issues yet going on two years I don't beat on it hard but it will make 9 lbs if you lean on it hard longest pull was to Kansas

7-8 lbs of boost max. Fully loaded camper and truck bed puts in me around 7k.
Despite the hills in the Ozarks I haven't been in a position to need to run much more than a few lbs of boost. Even the steepest grades combined with the parachute like drag from the camper do I see the gauge hit 2-3, any more throttle and I'm accelerating up the grade which pointless.

Shupe...SO, I am looking at Magnuson Supercharger, for my 11 Avalanche, 5.3, just for towing the camper in the mountains. What your saying makes good sense in my head, I only want to stay at given speed up the hill, say 55mph, not race to the top, anything is going to make heat if your hammering on it. In your opinion everything would work fine? Stock exhaust, CAI, and blower....This truck geared from factory to pull over 8,000 lbs. I maybe pulling 7,000 at the most.
