Default 408 stroker with ls3 heads cam advice

Building a 11:1 408 with rectangular heads for a nnbs 1500 4x4 and looking for cam option that will make decent torque. I was told these heads are a bit lazy below 3k compared to a cathedral but my time frame doesn't allow me to send out my cathedrals for a full cnc. Would like to stay stock stall or as close to stock as possible. Tranny already upgraded to 4l80. Thanks in advance!

Worried about torque when already going to a torque friendly 408 size motor?

Just kidding.

I hear ppl on this forum often suggest contacting Pat G to get a cam spec'd. Not sure how to help you get in touch with him.

However, Tick Motorsports spec'd a cam for my 408 with square ports. I think it was $409.

I keep hearing the pat g thing too lol. I called BTR and the guy was recommending a truck cam for a cathedral port 5.3 and I asked what the power range would be since I will have 80 more cubes than a 5.3 and he had no answer lol. I'm just worried that I won't be happy but I'm coming from a turbo 5.3 that had 0 bottom end until the turbo lit up.

What are your goals with it? You want a nice DD type setup or going for full 8000rpm race mode? Staying NA?
