Default Oil leak

I have been changing my own oil from the first day and about 3-4 oil changes ago; I noticed a buildup of dirt on some oil that is weeping (that is what the dealer is calling it) out of the bottom of my bellhousing. The dealer put the truck in the rack and said that it is normal for a truck to seep oil from gaskets and seals.
I have a 2005 silverado with a 5.3 in it and I have 28k on the clock. I am worried that my so-called weep will turn into a leak around 60k. I want to be proactive about this but how far should I take it?

Thanks,

Dave

A few questions: Is it oil or trans fluid? A light seepage of oil from the rear main or rear main housing is possible, and could stay that way for years to come. If it's trans fluid, then it's either from the front pump seal or converter to pump seal, and that usually just gets worse. Does the leak leave drops on the ground? If so, it's at the point that it should definitely be addressed. Either way, it should be fixed as it's under warranty and really shouldn't be leaking at all. It comes down to if you want someone tearing into driveline who may or may not be a qualified tech and may create other problems during the repair. If it's just oil "sweating" out of a seal, it may be worth living with...
