So I'm working on getting a roll pan installed. Getting the license plate flip in and soon to test fit it. I'm going bolt in first and may weld it in later.
Its an e-bay steel pan and didn't come with install hardware. Couple questions. Going to pick up some hardware tomorrow. Stainless steel sheet metal screws to install it or nuts and bolts? There are several spots along top of the pan to attach it to the bed but how do you attach the bottom side to something? Go through the side flanges to tie it in? Add supports somehow to the center section?

Mine is welded in, but if I was to use fasteners, I would recommend stainless rivets instead of screws or nuts/bolts. A pneumatic riveter will make it alot faster and easier, too.
Flipdown license plate with a hideaway hitch is a nice, stealthy touch also.

I would use bolts with locking nuts (that's what I used) mine also came with 2 flat slightly bent pieces of steel that attach to the frame and a hole on the bottom inside of the pan for support. I would definitely weld it if possible. I don't really agree with rivets in the even you wanna remove it you'll have an even bigger uglier hole to take care of

Thanks for the input guys. My plan is to bolt it in first. Weld it later or have it done. Bought a bunch of stainless sheet metal screws today. Fasten it along the top. A screw through each end to lock the bottom there. There are a couple holes along the bottom edge for some kind of bracing. Guess I'll just have to fab them up.
I'll post up an install thread when I get it done.

That's a nice looking item...I believe that the ones that come with hardware just use sheetmetal screws to secure them, but you can use whatever method you choose. I see that you already got stainless sheetmetal screws, definitely a good call going with stainless

You could see the screws along the top if you looked. Especially with the tailgate off. I thinking hard about just going ahead and welding it in. Hell if I screw it up I can take it to a real body guy to fix it.
