Default mirror covers

Got some smooth covers that I am going to paint. I can see how they attach to the mirrors, I am just not sure how to remove the old ones. Do I just pry them off? Is there a trick?

They should just pry off. I recommend getting a pry tool set if you plan on doing any work on these new trucks! It seems everything is clipped and bolted in.

I just got my mirror covers back from paint...I'm a little nervous about doing the swap...they seem kinda fragile.
