Default progress on my 2000 regular cab

its been a long time comin... for those who dont know, its been in for the body drop for a while so i decided to suicide the doors at the same time.. since there was gonna be bare metal, the door jambs would have to be repainted so why not do a color change right? well that involves pulling the motor.. so why not go from the v6 to something bigger right? then i decided to go from the 99-02 front to an 03+

first layer of duraglass sanded down

beginning work on the shaved gas door

while i was working on the body work, my dad was scraping the frame for paint..

a little more work done on the gas door.. these things were warped BAD

this is how she sat through the process

after a little more work on the gas door

ready to spray the firewall... i just went with black on the firewall, didnt wanna deal with runnin the new paint scheme through it for a few reasons..

firewall painted

note all the bondo dust... stuff sucks

final wipe of glaze coat on the passenger door

after a quick coat of primer

had to fix a dent here

and shes off to have a little more work done...

and the ls1 that is going in.. along with a built tranny and a few other goodies

this sounds painfully familiar my truck started as a mild 5.3 daily driver

looks like a sweet truck, though I like the 2000 front end better.
