Default v max alternator??

what are your guages reading when you are in your truck with the A/C on and the electric fans come on??

Mine is reading below 14 and i dont like that. Only reason i am asking is my old 4.8 with a stock alternator and electric fans only serged to below 14 when the fans came on then went back to 14 and stayed ther no matter what. Remember this truck was never equiped with e-fans also.

well it depends what you call 13. The mark between 9 and 14 should be about 11.5. Anyways i am gonna put a meter on it tomorrow. If it is any were below 13 it is going back.

the guage in our tbss was reading 11volts, i took it back in and they had to replace the guage cluster, now it reads 17 volts. i would put a meter on it then take it in.

you will have it go up and down depending on what the truck needs. In your owners manual it will talk about this as a fuel saving thing. Hope that helps it will go down when the truck doesn't need all the energy
