Blew out front shocks
#1
Now the dealer is saying that they wont cover it because my TB's are cranked up. They are trying to say cranking your TB's extend your travel of your A-arms. They want 280 bucks a shock. So I am getting some pro comp es9000 to go all around.

some dealerships say anything alteration to the truck voids warrently some allow thigns....from my experience with dealers is if you touch that section/part of truck its now voided. so if you did turn up the torsion bars which alters the suspension hten yes the warrenty for the suspension is now void

They also told me if I would have had a lift kit on, then they would have been covered under factory warranty.. I am still boggled about that comment.
It seems to me that the shocks are to short for the travel of the front end. If the shocks are maxed out at 1in of lift and there is 4in of travel in the suspension, then they would blow out at normal ride height... right????
I am no expert, but it seems they are just trying to cover their own ***.
Has anyone else blew shocks from TB adjustments?

Sounds like an excuse not to pay to me. From what I have read in the sevice info the front shocks are purposly the limiting factor in the downward suspension travel. It even says not to intall a longer shock due to possible damage of the suspension from over travel. It doesn't make a lot a sense to me why its designed that way I can't imagine a shock is really built to handle that kind of stress.
