Question 4L80-E Coolant Fittings

I'm installing a 4L80-E into my work truck and I am currently working on the transmission coolant lines. I want to use steel braided lines instead of the stock hard lines. What fitting do I need to convert the steel braided hose end (below) to the transmission?

Here's a good thread to read:

Basically use the adapter kit listed at the bottom of the post along with some 1/4" NPT male to -6an male adapters and it will connect to the female an connector you posted. One thing to keep in mind though, is I don't think trannny fluid mixes well with alot of rubber braided lines, best to go with a teflon lined hose like for transmission and power steering fluid.

This is what I used to adapt the lines to the 4L80E in my Chevelle. Hope this helps.

There are some things you need to be aware of:
First, if your 4L80-E has the inlet in the rear (late-model case) that fitting protrudes through into the center supports and provides cool lubrication. Adapting to it is best accomplished by TIG welding a steel -6AN fitting onto it.
Second, the 1/4" threaded ports ont he 4L80-E are the same thread pitch as 1/4" NPT, but they do not taper like 1/4" NPT. The rear ports on the trans is designed to seal with an o-ring rather than tapered threads. The front fitting seals with a tapered seat. It's possible to get a 1/4" NPT into the front connector port (outlet) but be careful not to overtighten - it can actually crack the case.

This is a photo of the inlet tube in the rear: (note o-ring and lack of taper)

This is 1/4"NPT compared to the 1/4" Quick Disconnect fitting:

Here's my setup for my 65E but there may be something in there you can use.
