Default 4 inch or 5 inch exhaust?

i have an 05 duramax and i'm ready to order exhaust. i have the edge juice and attitude ordered already. just wanted to hear what everyone else is running for exhaust and intakes also.

do you have a pic of your truck with the exhaust and tip on it? i pretty much have the same truck only ext cab, same color. i think 5 inch might look goofy on my truck, oversized kinda?

I read an article in Diesel Power, they did a test on the difference between the two, and the general idea was that unless you just want the big pipe, go with the 4".

5" is just gonna give you a different tone, usually a little more "rasp". Performance gains usually dont come into play until you're well past 500rwhp

A customer of mine ordered one and had me install it for him. Lets just say no amount of banging, hitting, pulling, pushing and cursing got it to fit right. The over-axle pipe rattles on the shock and the intermediate pipe bangs up against the transfer case..
