Default Fuel Management Computer

So, with the build up of my 404 stroker i am wondering if i should go for a some kind of FMU... I want to be able to run a boost controller and switch between 10lbs and around 15lbs of boost for daily vs. fun driving... But, i know with the factory PCM you have to tune for the higher boost and then just let it run rich the rest of the time. Is there a FMU out there that can look at boost and add fuel as needed? I would love to make the truck get good MPG and be more power efficient...

make sense or am i over thinking it? I want the truck to totaly bad *** and reliabe to drive every day... Bear with me guys, i am learning as i go...

You need to invest in some tuning software. I have EFILive and run a custom Operating System with a speed density tune. I also have a Greddy Profect II, 2 stage boost controller. Fueling is right on at both the 7 lbs and 10 lbs I'm running right now. It was a hell of a learning curve, but I figured it out. Best mod I ever did to my truck, it grows with you

I was told it is a bad idea to Run Speed Density Tuning in Florida because our Weather (humidity and such) changes so much from day to day...??? I am looking at that same Boost controller you are talking about though...

I don't know why people think that SD can't adjust for different weather conditions, it's not a carb, it uses many parameters ( baro, air temp, VE table ect.) to detriment proper fuel. There's millions of vehicales running around out there with SD FI from the factory and it compensates for weather just fine. I live in WY where is -20 in the winter and 100+ in the summer and I have checked my tune in both situations and it was still very close. If you think it off a little it's nothing that a little logging and a quick update to the VE tables cant fix, but I usually only update my tables after I've made some sort of change to my system. People who say that it won't stay in tune, don't understand how SD works and haven't messed with it.

I do really like this boost controller, it was easy to setup and work quite well, the only problem is it is way to easy to up the boost

Well, i will talk to my tuner about it then, i don't have enough understanding of the tuning and would rather leave it to a pro... Thanks for the info!

what will be the difference if you run 10ibs or 15ibs?
I think its only the air amount, if so then there is MAF & MAP.
and for ignition there is KNOK sensors.
