Anything goes in Illinois. No regs, no inspections. I guess the catalyic converter is supposed to be working but I know of no other laws and no checks the converter. No inspections.

aight thanks my parents are moving up to the chicago area and i don't want to have to go threw with all that emissions stuff up there... in mississippi no body cares what you do or how loud your truck is

It depends which county you live in--- I think. I live in Cook county,Illinois and all vehicles have to be tested. For obdII vehicles you can have no SES light illuminated; so no codes or pending codes in system. They check your gas cap and filler neck and plug in under the dash to check for codes.

Same goes for Wisconsin, Depends on Which county you move to. Racine, Kenosha and Milwuake countys have testing. If you can find a plcae in Walworth county or somewere west, North west of there you will be ok.

all you gotta do is tell them in wisconsin that its kept in a county up north and there is no test just a little loop hole you might find handy i live in racine and register all my stuff as kept up north and they will still mail it all right to your house
