Anything goes in Illinois. No regs, no inspections. I guess the catalyic converter is supposed to be working but I know of no other laws and no checks the converter. No inspections.

It depends which county you live in--- I think. I live in Cook county,Illinois and all vehicles have to be tested. For obdII vehicles you can have no SES light illuminated; so no codes or pending codes in system. They check your gas cap and filler neck and plug in under the dash to check for codes.

I'm in Beloit, right dead center south WI and we don't have any kind of emission checking around here. My cats will probably be gone by summer.

Same goes for Wisconsin, Depends on Which county you move to. Racine, Kenosha and Milwuake countys have testing. If you can find a plcae in Walworth county or somewere west, North west of there you will be ok.

I live in Jefferson county Wisconsin and we have no testing or inspection here. The heavily populated areas are the places to stay away from to avoid that stuff.

all you gotta do is tell them in wisconsin that its kept in a county up north and there is no test just a little loop hole you might find handy i live in racine and register all my stuff as kept up north and they will still mail it all right to your house
