Dumb Q - PCM removal
#1
As per thread title, dumb Q here. Have read over the docs and all from neslons site and here as well, know what I need to remove PCM but not sure where the sucker is. Figure its in this roughly 8 inch by 8 inch metal box in between my radiator and the battery, driver side but not sure. Does this metal box open up and the PCM is inside that box and once I open it up, it will be obvious to me or what?
Apologies, still new to new cars and know very little about the electronics stuff, locations, etc. Could tune a carb and install a cam blindfolded but I am a complete moron and uncertain about what im doing with these comp. controlled vehicles.
Need to ship out my PCM to wait4me this evening. Its an 05 GMC Sierra. Thx in advance.

It should BE that metal box. Mine is covered by a black plastic cover. Pull the cover off there is the metal box. Just undo the clip on the top, pull it out, and disconnect it. Enjoy your new tune, I'm very happy with mine.

just below the battery in a black PLASTIC box. Pull the bottom cover and it will come off (maybe not that easy...snap cover). Then there is aluminum 8 by 8 box. That's the PCM. It is very unforgiving if the battery is hooked up. Make sure no juice is in that vehicle when you pull the pcm and unhook its harness.

LMAO! Thanks guys, i was looking to crack that box open. Had it in my mind that the PCM was not that large and that I was looking for something the size of, say, a laptop hard drive or smaller.
That whole damn box thats says "Delphi" on it? Its almost the size of my A Team lunch box. So unplug those two connectors, 7mm screws to get that whole box out and the entire thing ships to tuner. Got it.
Thanks! I would of shipped him my alarm relay or some crap had I not asked.
