Default VHO question???

Is the VHO package a 4x4 silver w/a 5.3? I went to a local chevy dealership today and asked if they ever get them in and they didn't understand what I was talking about and were kinda pissing me off. Aren't they pretty much the same thing as a Silverado SS w/out the all wheel drive? Don't they have the 6.0?

from what i understand and have seen, they are all extended cab with chrome 20s. They are also 2wd w/ the 6.0 H.O.(345 hp. high compression version). Other than the badging, i think they are like other 1500s.

Not sure where you live, but alot of dealers cant get them. I know in florida its pretty much impossible to get one. Ask them to search for one. I think the code is B4V tell them to look that up

They are not like the standard 5.3 1/2 ton truck. They are basically a 2wd SS with 3.73 gears instead of 4.10 gears. The appearance is also different. Cladding, wheels, etc...

There was a "Spring Special" or something that came out last year. It is a 5.3 ECSB with the same wheels as the VHO.

Confusing? It gets better. The "VHO wheels" are offered as an aftermarket add-on by GM, so they could be on any truck.

Ask your dealer to look for the B4V (if I remember correctly) package. The 6 liter LQ9 engine is the key here. It is only available in the SS, VHO, and Denali (ECSB trucks).

I hope this helps.

I forgot about the wheel thing, I remember a while back I went to a local dealer and saw a few trucks with those wheels on them but they were just standard silvys. Are you saying they have body cladding? I didnt realize that. I think they also have the 4l65e tranny too.

By cladding I was referring to the SS bumper covers and front air dam. Only the SS has that from the factory. The VHO appears to be a plain truck. Both have the 4L65E.

I went back to the dealership today. These other two guys didn't know what the hell I was talking about either so I gave them the code of the truck and started exlpaining more about it and told them to look it up. Then they looked at me and asked "where did you get all this information at?" . I told them to give me a call WHEN they finds one. Thanks all. I feel much better now
