Beefing up front end of a half-ton
#1
My dad has a 97 half-ton that he uses to plow his restaurant's parking lot and his long driveway in the U.P. of Michigan. He's been plowing for about 3-4 years now and wants to enhance the front suspensison for the job.
Somone told him that he shouldn't use springs from a 3/4 ton truck because it would throw off the entire geometry of the truck and he'd regret it.
Is that true? What would you suggest? Anyone know a good board to ask this on?
Thanks

He basically just wants to keep the truck from sagging when the plow is on??
If its a 4x4 all you have to do is turn up the torsion bars until it gets to the height he wants
if its 2wd then he could use 3/4 ton springs, it will stiffen the ride though, but it will give it about a 2" lift. Or he could get some 2" spacers from someone like Daystar, that will get him 2" higher but let him still use the stock 1/2 ton springs
