Yea, was doing a couple pulls the other night and light came on code P1516. I think it's related to the tb

I've expereienced this as well along with some folks on other forums. Some say a newer l92 TB will work and others will say the ls2. One guy turned of p1516 altogether.

I did the same, no ill effects yet.

What exactly causes the issue? Is the blower sucking the TB shut under high boost? And if so, what is the difference between ls3 and ls2 tb that fixes the issue?

There are 2 theories:

1. At WOT, the blade flutters due to turbulent air.

2. The gold blade TBs open in a different rotation, ie backwards.

For possible remedies:

1. Supposedly the ls3 TB has a stronger spring.

2. The correct rotation resolved the issue.

Then throw in sporadic reports of an l92 TB fixing the issue. But I haven’t seen enough of this to be comfortable.

Ls3 has a weaker motor, and does in fact start to flutter at high airflow. Rotating it 180 made 0 difference on my old blower setup. I tried all kinds of stuff and nothing helped it. In newer pcm’s you can tune around it a bit by making the settings less sensitive, but it doesn’t eliminate the issue but rather mask it.

LS2’s have shown to work great. On my old TVS I ended up going to a cable 105 as a 90 wasn’t enough. Now that I am turbo I went back to the LS2 90

I was curious bc I have heard about this issue but the CTSV guys all use the LS3 Throttle Body with out issue so its kind of odd....according to them the LS2 throttle body isn't compatible with the CTSVs PCM....let us know if the LS2 fixes the issue
