I am from Texas also, and stationed here at Camp Pendleton. I have pacesetter longtube headers, no cats, e-cutouts, and 40 series flowmasters, and have never been smogged or stopped by CHP. If I were you, I would just keep my vehicles registered in Texas.

Don't register your truck here in california , I'm planning on taking my truck to Oklahoma and register there , this year I payed over $500 and in OK is like $100

hey there Marine sgt, how do you have base stickers when you have to take your truck to get it smogged? my truck is registerd in AZ my stickers just expired and now i have to get it smogged....any help

I just went in and talked to the girl that works there and gives out the stickers. After a little chit chat, she forgot about the smog check, and I got my stickers. Its nice to know someone there.

unless you know someone keep it reg in texas . i did just read on another forum that ca will be getting an obd2 scan instead of sniffer soon though.
