Ruger 22/45 Lite Talo Edition
3 Attachment(s)
After wanting a lite since they were announced and finally seeing one in person, I just couldnt get passed the goldish anodizing. Recently the talo edition was released which is all black and while boring, looks better to me. I wasnt planning on buying another gun right now as Im trying to get my trust finalized and get some suppressors ordered but they only made 3000 of these and they are sold out almost everywhere. I ended up finding one on gilbertsguns and the price was right so since I tend to be very impulsive when it comes to toys, I ordered one. Im hoping to get to shoot it next weekend.
My initial impressions is that it is a nice gun and ought to be fun. It does feel very nose heavy even with a full mag. That will only get worse with the suppressor on it but its not like the gun is all that heavy anyway. Its definitely going to need some work on the mag release as the mag is hard to get in and out but the bushing ought to take care of that. Planned mods are: Hogue wrap around grips (#45000) Bam bushing Burris Fastfire III Volquartsen target sear Volquartsen hammer Clark match trigger Clark sear pin and hammer bushing kit The compensator SGW makes ZRTactical charging handle Some extra mags and a lot of ammo, already have the ultimate clip loader coming in my midway order On to the pictures Attachment 127981 Attachment 127982 With my stainles Mark II target Attachment 127983 Eventually it will be wearing a Silencerco Sparrow |
It'a a ltd. ed. sold out piece, & u knew that goin in, so u plan to mod it?!? :hmmm:
Did u buy it just for the gun as a platform? Or lookin as an investment? |
Got rid of the one i had, i hated taking it apart

Speed Strip Kit |
Ive seen the speed strip kits before, i just decided if i want another 22lr pistol ill get another mkII.
|
They are easy to field strip.. ive cleaned mine a bunch.
also the easiest thing to do is remove the mag saftey crap.. it lets the mag drop free and easier to insert. i replaced mine with two small washers :D |
I ordered the hogue wrap around 1911 grips, a BAM bushing and a volquartsen target sear. Should last me for a while on it. I think Im going to get the lower notched part tapped for a small picatinny rail so I can mount my tlr1s on it. Ought to make for some fun night shooting once I get the suppressor.
My trust paperwork mailed today so the fun toys can be ordered here pretty quick phump |
That gun looks kinda goofy.
Just sayin.... |
How do you like the volquartsen?

Well Ive been so busy with work and life in general I havent had time to get out to the range so I decided to go ahead and install all my goodies even though I havent even fired it yet. A few beers later, 30 minutes worth of youtube videos and bam, its all installed. Wasnt too bad at all really, if I had to do it again it would probably only take me about 30 minutes. Some people have said they had problems separating the grip from the barrel but all I had to do was give the back a swift little hit on a stack of paper on my desk so it didnt get scratched and it popped right off. Anyway, on to the pics
Stock sight vs the .445 tall fiber optic http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...8892E2B4C0.jpg All broken down Attachment 126698 And all back together Attachment 126699 Everyone says the hogue 1911 grips work fine but I really dont like them but Im extremely anal though. I had to shave off a good bit around the bolt release which was enough to get into the plastic backing so it looks like crap and there is also a notch at the bottom that doesnt follow grip right. I will be ordering the 82080 grips which are actually for the 22/45. Other than that I love the grips, SO much better than the standard grips. I dont really have huge hands but definitely not small so they fill the palm of my hand up plus I really like the finger grooves. After setting the overtravel and takeup screws the trigger resets very fast and is 100 times better than the factor trigger. Im very happy with these mods, and the BAM bushing is awesome. The mags literally fly out of the gun now and I can actually seat a mag full of bullets without worrying about it falling back out of the bottom. Now if I could just decide between an SWR Spectre II and the Silencerco Sparrow Id be all set. |
Looks good

Went ahead and ordered me a compensator for it, should get no muzzle rise with this thing. I see mag dumps being quick and accurate with all these mods :D
MaddMacs Precision Tactical Ruger 22/45 Lite Compensator - MaddMacs' Precision Tactical |
how long did it take you to get your suppressor stamp. It looks like in Bexar county we have to go through some hoops as the Sheriff will not sign off on any.

I went the gun trust route so I don't have to deal with fingerprints, passport photo and a CLEO signature. I haven't bought a supressor yet as I haven't made up my mind on which one I want. From what I've read if you submit your paperwork with a trust you get it back a hair quicker which right now seems to be 6-7 months.

Got my compensator in today, I really like the quality and the way it turned out. Aside from a burris fastfire III this one is done.
Attachment 125853 Attachment 125854 Attachment 125855 I may keep it like this for a range toy and buy one of these Ruger® 22/45™ Threaded Barrel Rimfire Pistol Models To put the suppressor on and be able to mount the light on the chin picatinny for some night time fun. Need to decide if Id rather have the red dot or fiber optic front sight for night time shooting. |
