Shit, I forget dad has all the presses for reloading. A friend told me that about the 223's, perhaps he was mistaken, or it was on a particular combo. So my goal is rather low it sounds like. Good. My mounts are schedules to come in tmmrw, then sight it in, and go hunting.

The AR platform was designed for the standard 20" length. Can you have problems with different length systems? Yes. Does it happen often? Definitely not, or at least not enough to worry about IMO. My carbine hasn't skipped a beat yet, and countless others are working with perfect results.

You can fine tune it with changing the gas port size in the barrel. If you had to. Or a different buffer.

I have a funny issue with my 16" 6.8 AR. Every now and again it will soot up a whole case after its been shot. Most of them have a good seal on the neck. But the suppressor might be making it do that now that i think bout it,doh.

My next build is a 10.5" 300blackout :D. Cant wait to be really quiet and still semi auto.

See if you can find some of these to load. They are pretty nasty on critters.

Any particular reason you went with a 204 as opposed to the "normal" varmit calibers?

probably the fact that these shoot on a much straighter trajectory, they dont have to have a heavy weight, they move so goddamn fast itll vaporize anything under 10-15lbs. it gets downrange pretty quick. .204 has awesome balistics

But it peters out quick as far as ftlbs are concerned and figured he might want to play with coyotes during the day later on down the road.

.204 Ruger 32 GR V-MAX 83204
Velocity (fps) / Energy (ft-lbs)
Muzzle-----100 yd-----200 yd---300 yd---400 yd---500 yd
4225/1268 3645/944 3137/699 2683/512 2272/367 1899/256

The 40gr V-MAX is a fair amount better, check out this chart (http://www.hornady.com/images/ballis...ics_charts.pdf).
