How many rounds did it take to dirty the muzzle like that? Is that holster rubbing marks or residue on the side of the slide?

How do you carry it being under 21? The open carry bill is finally making its way thorugh the legislature, might be legal by the end of the year to open carry. :headbang:

the castle doctrine now applies to your vehicle. there is no limitation to what kind of gun you may carry, aslong as you are 18 or older. also, another really unkown law in the state of texas thats not even a loophole. cliff notes:
a person that resides in texas must be of 21 years of age or older to PURCHASE a handgun COMMERCIALLY. meaning from a store like academy or such. and 18 for a rifle a shotgun. now for the interesting part:
a person 18 years or older, but under the age of 21, may PRIVATELY, through trade or private sale of, like from texas gun trader or someone else, not purchased in a store, may buy and or acquire a handgun." meaning if you lived in texas, you could legally sell me a handgun, and i could legally buy it from you and own and possess it, with a bill of sale from you. which i would gladly fill out and sign, as i ask all buyers of my firearms to sign.

also, i probably shoot about 1400 rounds of ammo a week, 2 weeks a month. i spend ALOT of time at the range, just shooting paper, and working on drills. future leo officer here.

thank you :) i havent quite finished the crayon mod, the white lettering is actually filled in with crayon wax. so if i sell it and they dont like it, all they have to do is hold a white crayon over it, take a lighter, heat the crayon so it drips over the lettering, and up it comes.

Meh the 74 isn't all that much to look at because it's got a cheap red dot on it. I havent shot it in a while, I really need to.

I don't know how well the irons are sighted in, and never really cared to try to adjust it. That's why I bought the red dot. But other than that and the polished bolt carrier, it's pretty standard.

Nope. It's a mix of different parts. DPMS stripped lower, RRA stock, Stag Arms LPK, Stag Arms 2H 16" 5.56 upper, Magpul MOE handguard.

oh ok, then i DID see a D on the lower lol, i didnt see the rest, i thought it was a danials defense. nice beginner build right there, good to see you dont have any unnecesarry tacticool mall ninja shit stuck all over it.

I'm happy with it. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Stag Arms also makes some damn good stuff. The only thing on it that's "cheap" is the DPMS stripped lower, but 99% of lowers are the same. I'd love to build another one, but that will come later on. If I do decide I want to buy another firearm anytime soon, it'll probably be a shotgun of some sort.

preachin to the choir. just make sure you dont cheap out on your bolt carrier, barrel, or bolt. i would head over to b r a v o c o m p a n y and check out their stuff, they have great products and good prices. did you assemble yourself?

00ChevyScott 05-03-2011 09:51 PM

Ya I've heard good stuff about BCM. And I put the lower together and topped it off with a complete upper.

very good. its always a good feeling to shoot something you build. how long did it take you to assemble it? some of those pins and springs can be a complete pain in the ass. also, you should look into a timney trigger. i think since yours is a dpms lower, its a small pin, but idr so be sure to check on that. my ar's all have timney #3 single stage timneys, and my 10.5 sbr build will have one as well.

00ChevyScott 05-04-2011 09:57 AM

The basic stag trigger is pretty decent, so I'll probably stick with it for now. Building it took maybe 20-30 minutes. I thought it was very easy, and my roommate finished his in about the same amount of time.
