Hey guys- just got a 2016 Sierra and looking to tune it but when I plug everything in and try to read it says Unlicensed Interface. I have the latest version of HP Tuners software. I know I'll need some credits, but just wanna grab a read right now. Anyone else had this issue? DO I need to get that MPCI 2 interface...…….

Make sure your application key is updated.

Go to your account page on HP Tuners then to your devices and get your app key and make sure it matches.

Any other problems likely means you need to email support.

Hmm- gonna have to investigate that. I had gotten a new key and it read, I changed a few things and wrote, then it crashed everytime I tried to open the file again for further changes, changed compatibility mode to Win 7 in Program Files no longer crashed but now get message of invalid application key now. I opened a ticked with HP Tuners and waiting to hear back from them now...…..

BTW- any specific steps to this update you mention...……...

Update- all good; did a resynch, as a matter of fact tried a resynch the other night but it hung forever. Just did it, went quick and all good; reading and writing with no crashes...……...

Did some tweaking in the trans, cool as hell that you can write the TCM or EMC only or both--and what a difference. The engines got it, it's a matter of getting to it. Lining the truck more and more...…….

This also happens with the newest software and older windows. Use compatibility mode to resolve the issue.
