Default Migrating to SD

Few questions... Do any of you guys who tune with SD keep the MAF just for the purpose of having an auxiliary sensor? And if so, does keeping the MAF let you retain misfire detection, or is that automatically lost when switching to SD? How much boost can the MAF sensor housings take before cracking the plastic, anybody blown one up before?

Yes keep the MAF in for the IAT sensor and whatever else it reads. As far as blowing it up I have never heard of one doing that under alot of boost.

The IAT is further downstream because I run meth, but it would be nice to have the MAF for logging airflow PIDs when I want to take a look at them. How would you calibrate the MAF in SD to get accurate flow measurements once its out of the loop for fueling calculations?

The scanner won't know, but you can still use the MAF table (if you export the data to excel).

You could still keep the MAF to monitor changes (to see if you make any more power on back to back runs).

That would be the goal, really. Its a good tool for measuring power, like you said.

Nothing wrong with it; MAF airflow is just more accurate.
