Switched 12v source on NNBS??
 

Anyone know of a switched 12v source in any of the fuse boxes on these NNBS trucks? I have two wires for my aeroforce interceptor (kick A$$ gauge by the way!!) wideband that both need a switched 12v source. I did happen to find two fuses in the fuse box under the hood that are both switched 12V sources but they are both for the o2'S. Would it be an issue installing a add-a-fuse to both of these? Also, the instructions only state a 12V switched source. Its doesn't specify what amperage. Does it matter what amperage fuse I tap into with the add-a-fuse?

I'd recommend a 10amp fuse.

I used the radio or one of the IGN fuses, I forget off hand what I did.

The aeroforce gauges are nice no doubt but to me they are still made kinda cheapy. I had one for 4 years in my grand prix gtp, only real problems were super cold winter days and super hot summer days because either the screen took awhile to warm up so you could read it or you have to cool it down to read it.

But being able to surf though 8 functions on the fly with 4 sec per screen was pretty awesome, I could watch everything I wanted.

Get a multimeter and start probing away.

There's a spot in the fuse box above the E-brake that you can use, it's a pink and white wire or solid pink... I'll have to look tomorrow. Or you could take the dash apart below the steering column and take the metal plate off, there's the solid pink wire that is the ignition 12v turn on wire.... Either way getcha a multi meter and make sure.

X2^^ theres a junction block to the left of the brake pedal above the handbrake assembly. Get you a DVOM and probe away. There should be a couple of empty connectors as some of them are for additional accesories like dvd player or some crap. Thats where i have my wideband hooked up. Id take a pic for ya but im 45 miles away from my truck right now lol.

So I found two pins in that junction box next to the brake pedal that are switched 12v. Can I just put a wire connector on the pin? I don't need a fuse or anything do I ?

It's always a good idea to put a fuse.

For the fuse slots I use the little "tap a fuse" things you can buy at any auto parts store.

I'm talking about the pins. I don't believe there are any empty fuses in this junction box? The pins I found to be switched 12v are by arrow #2

You could always put a spade connector on that, but I would still put a small fuse on it.
