Here is what I did.

I removed the valve covers, soaked them overnight in Seafoam, blew them out with an air compressor the next morning (both valve covers, not just the driver's side!) and reinstalled.

I have not seen any smoke since.

Well, it has been almost a year, and the problem has resurfaced. I guess cleaning out the valve covers is going to be an annual maintenance project!

JYD I'm in the process of doing your fix. I couldn't believe the amount of crap that came out from under the baffles in the valve covers. I'm still going to install a catch can and a breather on the passenger side as i think the system is faulty from the get go.
