SCT tuner install failed twice/ HELP!
#1
i bought an SCT BDX Flash tuner brand new from oreillys for 400 bucks. I attempted to install it and bricked my ecu. After arguing and getting kicked out of oreillys i bought a used ecu and body control module and got my 2002 chevy suburban running again . i got SCT/Bullydog support to unlock the device again. Then i attempt it again. Same results. This time i cant get them to unlock the device plus frankly i dont want to pay for another ecu and body control module. SCT support has given me the run around several times in an all day experience three seperate times. i have yet to get this device to work and its costed me much more than 400 with purchases and days off from work. has anybody else experienced this? Can anyone help me?

I lost out on 400 at the register and 100 twice at the junkyard and now I can't even start my suburban. Somebody has to be held responsible. O'reilly's doesn't warn you about the dangers and won't refund you. The ******** on the support hotline give you the runaround to what turns out to be a whole day and then hang up on you after hours on the phone. That happened to me about four times. Not to mention days of work lost and vehicle down for months. Does anybody know of anyone I can talk to????

When I got my Whipple it came with an sct to download the canned tune. It worked in my case and I even downloaded an updated tune to it and then from it to my truck. Idk. Sure looks like they would warranty it. If you bought it with a credit card you have legal recourse. Call the AG in your state.

Performance parts often times aren't refundable. Read the fine print, it's there. You bought a performance part, used it and you bricked your ECM. Then you get another ECM, get SCT to unlock the unit and brick ECM #2.
Did you not learn the 1st time?
And then, you've pissed off folks that might have helped but now they won't. It sucks. There is the saying "you gotta pay to play" and this is just one of many examples.
So here we are.
O'Reilly's isn't going to help you so you might as well just cut your losses with them if they even let you in the door still........
You might get SCT to unlock it again but if you do, sell it and don't look at it again.
So how to get your 'Burb fixed?
You're either replacing the ECM again or having it towed to a dealer to see if they can fix it by using a tech2 and OEM flash file.

The warranty states it will cover the device for 1 year.
If they can't help you and the device does not function properly you should be able to return it.
If you have irritated any one and everyone that can assist you that's your fault. Don't take your frustrations out on them.
When dealing with phone support, They are not there at your vehicle. They can not see if you have an aftermarket stereo or alarm that could be causing an issue.

I know and Ive been very patient with them trust me it just seems like from the time they answer after waiting an hour on hold they just want to hang up and ask the most rediculous questions almost like they're mocking me which they probably are. Anyway I'm going to figure it out myself. So can anyone help me out with a schematics diagram of the data bus link and all modules so I can start testing for shorts? It has to be 2002 Chevy suburban vinz made in Mexico specific from my understanding from the research I've done so far.
